Who are we?

The Laurel Springs Piranhas is a neighborhood summer league team that focuses on sportsmanship, improvement, swimming skills, and having fun at every practice and meet! We want to help create the life long love of swimming! Our 2026 team will have Piranhas and Mini Piranhas. Below are descriptions of both.

Laurel Springs Piranhas: Our competitive team is part of the Atlanta Swim Association (ASA) and is open to swimmers ages 5–18 who can swim one full length of the pool unassisted.

Swimmers may compete in up to five dual meets against other neighborhood teams. After-school practices run Monday–Thursday starting May 4. Once school is out, practices move to mornings, Monday–Thursday, through the end of June.

Friday mornings are reserved for fun, games with the coaches, and ribbon pickup following Thursday meets. Practices and meets are not mandatory. We understand summer schedules include camps, vacations, and other commitments.

Laurel Springs Mini-Piranhas: Designed for our youngest swimmers who are not yet fully independent, this program helps build confidence and skills in the water. Swimmers practice in very small groups (1–2 per coach) with hands-on, in-water instruction.

This non-competitive program is for ages 4–5 who are potty trained and comfortable in the water without floaties. Mini Piranhas are our future Piranhas!

Practices begin Tuesday, May 26 (after Memorial Day) and run for 5 weeks, Monday–Thursday. Swimmers will also have the opportunity to participate in “mini-meets” prior to our home meets.
