Volunteer Positions

We couldn’t run our meets without our amazing parent volunteers! Thank you for helping make swim meets fun, organized, and successful for all swimmers and families.

Bullpen Volunteers (20 Needed)

Help keep swimmers organized and ready for their events by escorting athletes to and from the blocks.

• 6 & Under (Boys & Girls) — 1st Half Only
• 7–8 (Boys & Girls) 
• 9–10 (Boys & Girls)

Swimmers in the 11–12 and 13+ age groups do not require bullpen volunteers.

Timers & Recorders (12 Needed - 6/half)

Each Piranhas lane requires:

• 1 Timer - Uses a stopwatch to record swim times
• 1 Recorder - Writes the stopwatch times on the recording sheet

No prior experience needed - we help each other learn!

Place Judge (2 Needed - 1/half)

• Sit poolside in a designated chair
• Determine swimmer placement at the end of each heat
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
• Forms and instructions are provided

Runner (2 Needed - 1/half)

• Collect score sheets from the Master Recorder
• Deliver sheets to the computer/scoring area

Note: Home meets do not use runners (see below).

Master Recorder (2 Needed - 1/half)

• Collects Judge’s Recorder sheets
• Gathers times from timers
• Completes official score sheets
• Delivers paperwork to the computer table
  (via Runner at away meets)

At home meets, the Master Recorder brings sheets directly to the computer area.

Home Meets Only

Judge’s Recorder (2 Needed - 1/half)

• Sit poolside between the Place Judges
  (1 place judge from our team and 1 from the opposing team)
• Record swimmer placements as determined by the Place Judges
• Submit completed sheets to the Master Recorder

Event Clicker (2 Needed - 1/half)

• Follow the meet using the provided heat sheet. 
• Update the electronic Event/Heat board throughout the meet.
