IMPORTANT MEET INFORMATION
- We will have 5 dual swim meets held on Thursday evenings with the exception of the last week in June falling on a Tuesday. Meets are on: May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18 and June 23. Once a final schedule is published on locations, it will be shared.
- All swim meets start at 5:30 pm. For HOME meets, swimmers arrive no later than 3:30 pm for warm-ups. For AWAY meets, swimmers arrive no later than 4:15 pm for warm-ups.
- We will not be attending the ASA divisional meet held at Georgia Tech.
- For all swim meets, it is critical that parents RSVP on our website so our coaches can plan the lineups for the meets.
- Vacations and camps are a normal part of the summer, and it is okay if your swimmer misses a meet and practices. Summer is a time for fun and learning. We want them to be part of everything they can. We just ask that you PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE COMMUNICATE with the the coaches. Mark your child out of the meets and make sure to let us know when they will not be there.
- Please note home meet parking can be challenging. We would like to strongly recommend all parents…if you have a golf cart, please use it; walk to the pool if you live close enough; or carpool with your neighbors. Limiting the number of cars helps tremendously!
- Upon arrival at swim meets, report to parent and swimmer check-in. Parents and their swimmers should check in at the volunteer tables. Look for the designated area for check in. Depending on the starter at the meet, they start right on time, don't be late!
- Feel free to bring a small cooler with plenty of drinks and some high carbohydrate value snacks (fruit, crackers, bagels, pasta, etc.), although concessions will be available at home meets and typically at most away meets.
- Bring extra towels, t-shirts and sweats for each swimmer, as well as a pair of shoes. The decks and parking lots can be rugged and get HOT during those summer days! Bug spray is helpful during the summer nights.
- During the meet, swimmers MUST stay in the bullpen. This is the area designated for our swimmers. If your swimmer has to leave the bullpen, s/he must tell the assigned bullpen parent, and it is now your responsibility to make sure s/he is back in that area at least 6 events prior to their next event. Bullpen volunteers will help to get them to the starting blocks, but please don’t expect them to go find your child who may be sitting with you or at the concession stand, etc.
- If you are at a meet and your child gets sick, find a coach or team manager. Please do not leave without telling someone.
- Remember that swim meets don’t run themselves. It takes a lot of parents to make a meet run smoothly. It takes 70 volunteers to run a successful meet. So VOLUNTEERING IS MANDATORY. If your child is swimming, you are required to sign up to volunteer. This is non-negotiable. No fining, no arguing, just sign up.
- Don’t assume that a meet is cancelled even if there are thunderstorms in the area. The referee from ASA will decide after arriving at the location. Cancellations and delays are sent out via text and email, in addition to being posted on the website. If you haven’t heard from the coaches or team volunteers, the meet is ON.
